Eric Smith received his bachelor’s degree from UCSD in 1995 and his law degree from Pepperdine University in 1997. Eric holds the Certified Financial Planner(TM) designation. He has been a securities dispute arbitrator for FINRA and taught retirement planning classes for Cal Lutheran’s MBA program. He is a member of the California Bar, the Ventura County Bar Association, and the Financial Planner’s Association of Ventura County. He is co-owner of Lifetime Planning, Inc., a financial planning firm in Camarillo. He resides in Ventura with his spouse, Jamie King, and their children, Kell and Leif.

Eric considers estate planning as a process guided by values and relationships. What and who are important to you? What can be done to help you express your values and protect those you care most about? He listens more than he talks, a rare trait for a lawyer. What are your concerns and what needs to be done to provide you with the feeling that you have done what is necessary to deal with those concerns and protect those you care about?

“I want to understand the big picture from my client’s perspective, while keeping my eye on the details so that they can improve their chances for realizing their important goals.  These goals typically involve family relationships, community involvement, and deeply personal values. It’s my pleasure to help people carry out their most important goals while organizing their legal affairs and providing security for their family.” — Eric S. Smith
